Okay, I'm Interested. But what if ....... There are a number of common percieved barriers to helping out with a snowmobile club, here are a number of "Questions and Answers" about volunteering that may break down those misconceptions and barriers. Q. I don't have the time? A. Really? You'd be surprised what can be accomplished in just one afternoon; every little bit adds up to a big difference. By pitching in for only a few hours at club activities like an event or riding your sled as a Trail Patroller, you'll feel really good about yourself. Q. I don't know what to do or how to do it? A. Not to worry. We're used to people volunteering without trail or club operation experience or all the skills required. That's why we have training available as you need it in a variety of formats: classroom, online or on the job. Q. I don't live close enough to a club? A. No problem. We can make fit your schedule and location by offering web-based tasks from your home. You may also discover that a day of volunteering at your club gives you a welcome break and connects you to a rural community that becomes your home away from home. Q. I'm not sure when they would need volunteers? A. Any time is good! We welcome rew recruits throughout the year and strive to match you to a role that suits your available time, interests and skills. Some times of the year are busier than others, like setting up the trail in the fall, but more often than not there is always something going on. Q. They don't need someone like me or my family? A. Not a chance. Snowmobiling is a family activity where women, seniors, couples, youth and families continue to play a vital role in the operating of our clubs. We have great opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, folks just like you! Q. I haven't been asked to help? A. Why wait to be asked? Clubs always appreciate help. Sometimes they're just too busy to ask, even when they really could use an extra hand or two. By taking the initiative to approach your club, you will be doing them a big favour and find yourself warmly welcomed to a great new experience!
